we're up against a mix of indians and malays who were obviously above the age of 18. im not sure how they managed to qualify for under-18s.. there were at least 2 other teams which were made up with people overaged.. we opened the scoring during the first half when shank unleashed a shot from half court to put take us into the lead.. however, with only a minute left, we conceded due to some slack defending.. final score MDG 1:1..
-Game 2, Group Stages-

our opponents consist of ppl from my secondary sch.. they were clearly owning us and they were 2-0 up at the end of the first half.. we pull a goal back when i went into a tackle quite aggressively and slotted the ball past their keeper.. we were more settled and shank scored again in an almost similar fashion as his first goal to equalise for MDG.. the expression on the opponents' faces clearly showed their disappointment.. final score MDG 2:2..
-Game 3, Group Stages-

we're up against a team of skillful malays from my sch again.. they won all their 3 games so far and we had nothing to lose really.. as expected, they drew first blood when they scored and they went on to score a total of 5 goals.. i saved some blushes for the team by scoring 2 goals.. final score MDG 2:5..
-Game 4, Group Stages-

mark waited for the last game of the group stages to make his mark.. he scored the solitary goal which put us in 2nd position assuming that other results went our way.. it was a rather emotional moment for him and everyone in our team were really high.. final score MDG 1:0..
-Game 5, Semi-Finals-

Opponents won on sudden death penalty.
the opponents we are facing are all bigger than us in terms of age, size and heights.. their team consists of malays, indian and a foreigner.. the team earlier on trashed our another under-18 team 5-0.. however, my team overcame all odds to hold out a draw.. we moved on to the penalty shootout which saw Mark missed the penalty for us.. it was indeed heartbreaking to lose out on penalties but kudos to mark for having the courage to step up to take the penalty for the team.. we failed to get into the finals and we accepted the fact that we will be playing for the 3rd placing.. anyway we had already exceeded the expectations by getting into the top 4.. we would be coming back on sunday for the 3rd and 4th placing match.. the other semi was identical to our semis too when both teams drew 0:0 and the better team went out on penalty.. so we will be facing the team we lost to 5:2 during our group stage.. SIAN.
-Game 6, 3rd & 4th Placing Match-

we were totally owned by this team.. we had no shots at goal and made them look good.. given a chance i tink we can do better.. credit for firdaus for saving lots of shots.. final score MDG 0:4..
