Hey guys

i was approached by members of RC to ask mpfc to play in a street soccer competition on 16th and 17th September morning.

A team will consist of 7 players including keeper.

So who's interested ? they are waivering the registration fee for us.

If we win , there will be cash prizes. The venue is at marine terrace .

So question is who wants to play and how many teams are we sending

Team 1
Samuel

Mark
op
Firadus ( GK )
Nigel

although there's eight names here the extra one will be in reserve or another team. To be decided b4 the day itself

After the 4-1 win over bedok south, Shankie has decided to treat the whole of mpfc to pizzas ! there were 10 pizzas ordered with drinks courtesy of Adrian , Tom ( who used up all the money he has for this instead of spending it on his girlfriend ) and gang ( sorry i dunno who ) .

Here are the pics

Dialogue Session, 26Aug'06.

Remember the letter either Shank or Samuel wrote to the town council regarding policemen interfering with our "Joga Bonito" all the time? The town council replied that there will be a dialogue session with a MP around this month so maybe we can bring the matter up.

From what I read from the noticeboard in the void deck, it will be taking place between 4pm till 6pm on the 26 August'06, Saturday at the RC under block 75. This is our chance to let 'them' know what we wanted all this while. We can tell them about something like we have been playing together for more than 5 years and we can't possibly travel to places a few stops away just to play football daily.(I personally feel that the recent upgrade of the badminton court doesn't make much sense as it is in an open space and it always gets too windy to play badminton.)

To sum it up, we just want a street soccer court. We need a leader cum good speaker to bring up the matter during the session. Someone like Adrian or Samuel. This is our chance to make ourselves heard and let us all turn up as a group(preferably in our MPFC jerseys). Please discuss about this when you guys meet up to play during the evenings.

Match Report: MPFC 4:1 BedokView XI

Yo.. chongyi aka OP here.. adding my version of the match report here in case adrian is too busy to add one.. in fact its just a copy-and-paste from my blog.. haha..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
reached our venue about 3 busstops away.. the match is starting at 3pm.. we warmed up and hav some kick-abouts.. we also took our squad photo.. late-comers not included though.. haha..
obviously i didnt found out about the MPFC blog until today after the match therefore i didnt noe what our opponents would be lik.. now after reading the preview after playin the match.. everything turns out to be too true.. the opponents are all tough and physical.. and they were more interested about challenging us to a fight.. their team ended up with 2 yellow cards but MPFC, led by adrian, would not be infuriated by their actions..
both daniels were late therefore we started with Musain in place of d. Guo..
we got off to a dream start when musain scored.. both teams were evenly matched and soon we were 2-0 up with a lucky goal.. midfielder jasper toe-poked the ball from about 20m out and the ball went in between the legs of the opponent's keeper.. the team morale were boosted but we did not allow our performace to falter.. we defended badly during corners and got away with it at times.. firdaus the goalkeeper made some crucial saves.. a defence splitting pass by jasper found musain 1-on-1 with the keeper and he made no mistake from a tight angle to make the game 3-0 to MPFC.. it was a lively first half which saw firdaus saved a penalty due to mark's unintentional handball.. 3-0 to MPFC at half-time..
during the 2nd half is when the opponents showed their nasty side.. two or three of them were incensed when yiquan made a tactical foul to stop their flow of the game and they appeared to be unhappy.. these things happen in football and the ref and some other more "mature" players cooled them down.. anyway yiquan suffered a minor knock from the foul he made and tom came in for him.. varun was substituted by daniel guo.. and daniel-ching sub jasper and moved into right defence..nadhir came into the game too for musain.. the formation is now lik,
----------Tom[viceC]----------Samuel----------
----------Nadhir----------Shank[viceC]----------D.Guo[viceC]----------ChongYi----------
----------Nigel[viceC]----------Adrian[c]----------Mark----------D.Ching----------
----------Firdaus[viceC]----------
*ignore the [viceC] =)
we improved on our passing during the 2nd half.. some good passings led to a 4th goal by sam.. credits to his good finishing for his shooting of the ball towards the top right of the goal.. firdaus made a mistake which gifted the opponents a consolation goal.. the goal was shot towards him and he couldnt get hold of the ball and thus allowing the ball to lob over him into goal.. he made some saves to make up for that though.. we had a couple of chances at goal before the match ended.. i could had broken my scoring duck when i outran 2 players and were clear on goal until a defender made a last ditch back tackle which earned him a yellow card.. it was a win we earned with our determination and good football..
and now for my "trademark" rating system.. hahaha..
::First Eleven::
(Average = 6)
Firdaus(GK)- [8] - one of his best performance during a match.. made countless saves but one blunder from him gave a goal away. nicknamed "butter fingers" after the match.. lol.. rushing out to clear the ball => 20/20
Nigel(LB)- [7] - showed his tricks and solid defending throughout the match.. tricks in the defence area? nv heard of it till he showed us how it's done today.
Adrian(CB)[c]- [9] - a captain lik italy's cannavaro, who else can we ask for? commands the team well and win headers all the time.. didnt go out and attack lik the last match though.. haha..
Mark(CB)- [7.5] - had a good game in defence.. oftenly helping out the right side.. lacks pace but he reads the game well.
Shankaran(RB)- [6] - an average day for shank..
Varun(LM)- [4] - once again too lightweight at the left side of the field.. when in possession he is lost about what to do next.. had a good chance to score but he blew it..
YiQuan(CM)- [8] - one of our regulars star performers.. he moved to central mid from his usual left back role and did very well.. something lik our defensive midfield.. a versatile player..
Jasper(CM)- [8] - great game for him too.. slick passing.. tackling was superb.. big-sized enough to take on opponents too.. scored a goal..
ChongYi(RM)- [?] - shant rate myself.. all thanks to the "fan-tastic" mac meal i had earlier on.. i could run around without feeling tired throughout the whole match.. though i had minor cramps towards the end of the match due to over-stretching.. i had a better game during the 2nd half and pretty much anonymous during the first half.. had been some time since i out run someone and i out run 2 opponents today =]
Musain(CF)- [9] - a pacy striker making his debut for MPFC.. did exceptionally well for the team and capitalized whenever a chance arrives.. scored 2 goals today.. a great recruit..
Samuel(CF)- [8] - arguably the person with the most tricks in our team, he passed well and looked sharp.. scored a good goal too..
::Substitutes::
Nadhir(LM)- [7] - did well after coming on.. his interception was needed at times..
Tom(CF)- [6.5] - did fine during the match.. though he had few glimpse of the ball, he tried hard and showed his fighting spirit..(refering to the one when he got rammed by the ball but he went on to chase it.. )
Daniel Guo(CM)- [6] - a first team player who was late & therefore only came on as a sub.. was a shadow of the player he is but he did fine.. had a goal disallowed(offside)
Daniel Ching(RB)- [7] - did well in our weak area, the right defence, by his tight markings and physical..
Photos will be up soon when Samuel's ready.
